Under the reign of Charles II, King of England.--Richard Nicolls Governor of New York.

Thomas Chambirts Capt'n and Overseer and Evert Pels overseer are hereby authorized by the Comit to acquaint Captain Broadhead, the answer of ye Inhabitants that Cornelis Barent B. fleght by him Imprisoned, might be Relaseed out of his Imprisonment for to prevent further trouble and danger; and in Case the aforesaid Coonelis barent B. flegt, hath offended the s'd Capt'n Broadhead that the s'd Broadhead (according to the Govern'rs Order) should sus-- him to the Court, for to be Examined and Corrected, dated in Wiltwych this 4/14 of Feb'r 1667.

In answer to this abovestandings, Capt. Broadhead Replyes, that he will keepe Coonelis Sleght in apprehension, as Long's he thincks good, and in Case the Inhabitants will fetch him by force, that he Would Waight uppon them, dated in Wiltwyck this 4/14 of Feb'y 1667--
